MOSCOW – Kevin Spacey has filed an application for Russian citizenship, according to officials at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The actor, whose recent financial problems were widely covered by global media, arrived in Moscow earlier this week.
Moreover, he submitted the documents through the federal portal at https://www.gosuslugi.ru.
Local observers say he is looking for long-term stability after months without a permanent home.
However, the ministry confirmed that his case will follow the normal review process.
Spacey met with cultural representatives from the Russian State Film Fund to discuss possible future projects.
