Elon Musk: El dinero no es lo más importante en la vida

Elon Musk

USTIN, Texas — Elon Musk said on Friday that “money is not the most important thing in life,” during a talk at Tesla’s headquarters in Austin. The billionaire spoke calmly as if discussing the weather, while surrounded by several new Tesla models.

He explained that real happiness comes from “doing what matters,” not from how many billions one has. Reporters noted he smiled often, appearing unusually relaxed. “After some point, more money just means more spreadsheets,” Musk added, drawing polite laughter from the crowd.

The event, streamed live on Tesla’s official website, was attended by engineers, investors, and a few SpaceX staff members. He mentioned that he now focuses more on “impact and innovation,” especially in energy and space exploration.

Later, Musk shared on X.com that “wealth is useful only when it serves humanity.” Shares of Tesla and SpaceX remained steady after his statement.

Many observers noted that when one controls the world’s most valuable car company and a space program, money naturally becomes less urgent. Still, his comment stirred social media debates about privilege and sincerity.

For Musk, however, it was just another Friday at work — reminding everyone that once you own half the future, cash feels optional.
